Happy New Year, 2017!

I'm not fooled by the innocence symbolized by the angel children. I know the bats represent what it is really going to be like in this country this year. If you look closely at the face of the angel riding the closest bat on the left, you can see that he or she knows it, too. Fasten you seat-belts, little children, it's going to be a bumpy year.

Yes, here too... and just wait until the French and German elections.

The world's gone mad I tell you - still it'll make interesting blogging...

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to you, too, and, yes, the world has gone mad. Seems as if the world goes mad every once in awhile. Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes.(Sigh)

I think cultures go so far one direction and then reverse themselves and we're seeing that. It is by nature chaotic and who knows if people will want the reverse direction. I read though it's extremely rare for one party to control the Presidency through three terms; so Trump winning was not the unexpected event that some claimed.

Agree about culture being a pendulum and have said the same thing but sometimes the swing is so far outside what normally happens that it is unfathomable. Trump winning was one of those outside the norm events so it was unexpected for a lot of people including me.

Most people live in bubbles and hence they know those like themselves. It happens also with the entertainment/media/etc. that we are most comfortable taking into ourselves. It's why so many on the left think all Trump voters are evil and likewise those on the right think the same about Clinton voters. I have a very nice, long-time, Jewish friend, who was totally in shock when I told him I voted for Hillary. He said that liar, crook, etc. We are so divided that I wonder how it'll ever be possible to come together as a nation.

Great picture. The world seems upside down, or maybe it's flat again.
