Others can run their lives on lies if that's what makes them happy. Honesty works for you. You might make a name for yourself by being so open in such a secretive environment. You might also make a nuisance of yourself by constantly breaking some kind of social contract. And if a candid observation ruins your credibility, perhaps it's best that you're no longer involved.
