I Am Learning To Sew- Project 7b

Sewing project 7b - a short handle tote. I had enough fabric left over from the last project to use it on this one. I flipped the fabric to the wrong side and added a big pocket on the front. Gave this to the little girl across the street. It is just her size.

I Am Learning To Sew- Project 7

Sewing project 7 - a bag. I had trouble with this one because I misunderstood the instructions and put the wrong sides together. I then did not notice my mistake until after I had it all sew together. Got a lot of practice ripping seams with this one.

I Am Learning To Sew- Project 6

Sewing project six. I made another sewing machine cover because I wanted my last memory of making a sewing machine cover to be a good one. Had some minor difficulties but, all in all, this one went a lot smoother.

I Am Learning To Sew- Project 5

Sewing project five- a sewing machine cover. You can't tell by looking at it but this project was a bear. I had a hard time cutting the pieces straight, I stuck myself with pins numerous time (drawing blood once), I had to rip seams apart three different times because I put sections together wrong, and I had to rip out trim and start over because I hadn't sewn it to the oilcloth. It was 8th grade Home Ec all over again. Hopefully, I got all the mistakes out of my system with this one.

I Am Learning To Sew- Project 3

Sewing project three. One pin cushion and four fabric weights made with left over material from my apron project and felt. The weights were made using circular pin cushion instructions but I just made the basic shape and then filled them with marbles instead of Polyfil. I need fabric weights more than another pin cushion right now.

I Am Learning To Sew- Sewing Table

My husband built this for me using an IKEA INGO dining table.  He cut a hole in the table top and suspended a shelf under the opening. He used the instructions from this site with a few minor changes.

L'amour Est Enfant De Bohème (Love Is A Gypsy Child)

Iil n'a jamais, jamais, connu de loi.
Si tu ne m'aimes pas, je t'aime,
Et si je t'aime, prends garde à toi!
(Prends garde à toi!)
Si tu ne m'aimes pas, si tu ne m'aimes pas, je t'aime!
(Prends garde à toi!)
Mais si je t'aime, si je t'aime, prends garde à toi!

New York, New York, It's A Helluva Of A Town..

The Bronx is up, but the Battery's down.
The people ride in a hole in the groun'.

This beautiful view of the New York skyline includes the Chrysler Building at 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue right behind the woman in the red hat. The Chanin Building at 122 E. 42nd Street right next to it and behind the two women with their heads together.  The  New York Central Building (AKA Helmsley Building) at 230 Park Avenue, pointed to by the feather on the hat of the woman on the right. The Lincoln Building at  60 East 42nd Street behind and slightly to the right of the New York Central Building.  Grand Central Terminal down behind the New York Central Building.  The Mercantile Building at 10 E. 40th Street is to the right of the Lincoln Building and the Empire State Building at Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street right behind the Mercantile Building.  What great buildings and what a great photo.
