We seem to forget or not know that when those planes flew into the World Trade Center towers it was early enough in the morning so that only half the people who worked there were actually in the buildings. It is still unknown just how many people were in the buildings that day, estimates range from 10,000 to 14,000 souls.
Two thousand six hundred-three people died in the towers while 7,397 to 11, 397 made it out. Seven thousand three hundred ninety-seven to 11, 397 walked out of a living hell. In death there was life. This too should be remembered.

Good point, la p. I've never thought of it like that, but you're so right. We need to remember the survivors.
A programme on the radio last week said that somewhere over two and a half thousand died that day, but that over seven and a half thousand servicemen have been killed fighting Shrub's War on Terror since then.
One American lady interviewed on the BBC over the weekend said that had Shrub not responded as if it were a wild west movie, the world would now be a beetter place than it is.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing...
While writing this I was thinking about the tens of thousands civilians who have died in Iraq since this happened.

Yes! Such a good point--remember how the initial esimates of the death toll were high and were eventually lowered as people were accounted for? Thanks for this post.
