The Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela is a centuries old trek across northern Spain done by following "The Camino de Santiago", the road to Santiago. Before February of 2001 I had not heard of "The Camino" nor of the Pilgrimage. By the end of October of that year I was in Santiago after completing the walk myself. I thought that when I reached Santiago my journey was over but I see now that my journey started way before I got to Spain and still has not ended.

Interesting, la p. I have all sorts of photos from way back when. No one in my family cares about such things except me. I like that you posted this. If my scanner ever worked, then I might try to do the same thing. Do you feel any connection to these people?
I don't actually have these photos, Ally. Someone in another branch of the Shannon line has them and posted them on Ancestry.com. Any connection? Not really. When I first saw the photo of my g-g-grandfather I thought of abolitionist John Brown. My g-g-g is a bit scary looking. The photo of my g-g-grandmother is so blurry I can't get any impression of her so I don't feel connected to her either. I do find the photos fascinating though. These people are part of me.
I wonder about that, too. Digital copies are so much more fragile that paper.
