Or...maybe he won because most Republicans think he can beat Obama and nothing
The Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela is a centuries old trek across northern Spain done by following "The Camino de Santiago", the road to Santiago. Before February of 2001 I had not heard of "The Camino" nor of the Pilgrimage. By the end of October of that year I was in Santiago after completing the walk myself. I thought that when I reached Santiago my journey was over but I see now that my journey started way before I got to Spain and still has not ended.

Iowa Swings Like A Pendulum Do
Mitt Romney "wins" the Iowa primary by 18 votes. EIGHTEEN VOTES! I can't get over it, only 18 votes separated him from second place Rick (I'm still stuck in the 1980's) Santorum. Maybe this is a sign that the Republican pendulum is swinging back toward center and away from the homophobic, anti-labor, pro-big businesses, screw-the-needy-and-working class, protect-the-rich, our-way-or-the-highway, anti-governmental-interference-unless-we-are-talking-about-abortion, war-mongering, racist, bigoted, anti-any-other-religious-sect, we-are-better-than-you-because-we-are-the-true-Christians, Far-right.
Or...maybe he won because most Republicans think he can beat Obama and nothinghad has changed.

I only worked out the other day that American elections are in every leap year. Far too often IMHO ;)
Presidential election are every leap year but, unfortunately Congressional elections are every two years as House members are voted in for two year terms and Senators have six years terms. Throw in the fact that campaigning for the next election begins almost the day after election day and you see why it seems as if every time you turn around we Americans are have elections. We are. Which explains why Americans are so passive-aggressive about voting. I've heard that many people who voted for Obama last time around are saying they are not going to vote at all this year. That'll show him!
EVen worse, we have had all this coverage and the big victory talk for around 30,000 votes for Romney.
I still take comfort in that the track record of Iowa voters predicting the outcome of the election is abysmal which behooves me to ask: Why are we fussing about it?
The media, the media, what's happened to the media?
I feel the need to brush up my Shakespeare and start quoting him now:
It's a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
I also feel the need to quote Snagglepuss:
Exit, stage left! ;)
Because it may be a sign that things are going to get worse politically in this country before they get better?
Cheer up, at least you can't get a coalition government like we have!
And thanks for the extra info on why your politics can never work. It all makes sense now. No wonder nothing ever gets done...
