What Are You Doing?


 I am in an 8+ crew racing shell rowing in the 1936 Olympics.  The Boys In The Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics

That book shown is "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll. That was his pen name and his real name was Charles Dodgson. Even fewer people know that he was a great mathematician whose specialty was logic problems. I'm working on some of his unsolved problems now.

So, if you solve them would that make you as great a mathematician as Charles Dodgson? I'm thinking it would.

I loved the Boys in the Boat; it helped that I've lived in Washington my whole life, graduated from the UW and have been to the crew house several times, for parties I'm ashamed to admit!
