I store a roasting pan in my oven because I do not have any other place for it and keep forgetting to take it out before I preheat the oven. Last week I came up with the idea of having a kitchen magnet made with the words "Check Oven For Pots and Pans" to put on the stove right next to the start button on my stove. Let's see how long it takes before I stop noticing it is there.

LOL. I do that too! I know I wouldn't pay attention to the sign, but it's a good try. lololololo Good luck with that!
Excellent idea. I need one to remind me of the pan I always forget to take out of the bottom of the oven which I put water in when baking bread.
Maybe you need a set of different colour ones to swap around so you don't get used to any particular one?
Debbie and Nic, I am sorry, I haven't checked my blog since I wrote this post.
Debbie- Yep, a week later I didn't notice the sign until after I turned on the oven but I did get the pan out before it got too hot to handle.
Nic- See reply to Debbie. I have a feeling, although it is a great suggestion, in my case, I don't think it would help. :(
